We return this week with a ripping show from earlier on in the Dead's takeover of America. This show from April 1971 in Central New York combines the Dead's early youthfulness with energy and straight ahead jams. High points of the show included "Bertha," "China Cat>Rider," "Casey Jones," "Sugar Magnolia," "I Second That Emotion," "Truckin'," & "Hard to Handle." Minus some rough vocals attempts the set show is fantastic! As is often the case with The Dead, the instrumentation made up for lacking vocals.
