If I could only choose one word to describe the Hell’s Belles show… it would be electric. The instruments, the energy on stage, and the input from the crowd - all electric, all night. The collective tribute to one of rock's greatest bands was a beautiful testament to the wide range of people that AC/DC was able to touch with their music.
Dead Ferver opened up the evening with a similar amount of movement around the stage and just as tight of pants. The crowd was eager to jump around and the band was eager to high kick and show off the middle finger umbrella during their song “Monster Like Me”. They hyped up the crowd even more by ending their set with the Beastie Boys classic, “Fight for Your Right”.
Hell’s Belles opened up with the song that is their namesake, and the dancing didn’t stop after that. They invited the crowd to participate during “TNT”, and to buy them drinks and they were happy to do both. Adrian Conner embodied the dance moves and duck kicks of the original band members but in her true, one-of-a-kind spirit, played the show in her bra and flashed her butt to the audience which read AC/DC.
Lauren Piston sang all night at the top of her lungs and surprised us with an outfit change into a priest outfit near the end of their set. The amount of crowd interaction proves how captivating they were to watch. Not to mention their sheer dedication to AC/DC including Lauren’s stomach tattoo that reads “HIGH VOLTAGE”, paying homage to their 1976 album. They encored with the classics, “Let There Be Rock” and “For Those About to Rock (We Salute You)” and Lauren made some fan dreams come true by chatting after the show.
Needless to say, Hell’s Belles gave us a very entertaining night. While already widely recognized, it should be reiterated, this isn’t a show you want to miss. The spirit of rock and roll was alive in each of the five band members and you could feel it. The audience was transported right back to the 80’s excited about every second they got.
