Spring Creek "Hold On Me"

Words By J-man

Just another one of the mountain bluegrass bands from Colorado? Nay. Spring Creek has been thrust onto the forefront of a movement, combining traditional bluegrass with a steady mix of newgrass and innovation. Hold On Me reflects a balance that's missing in most modern day albums. The classic song-writing and instrumentation connects with the heart and moves the feet on this fantastic collection of songs.

You can tell by the quality and direction of Hold On Me that it was handled by Colorado producer/dobro player, Sally Van Meter. Sally demands near perfection, and Spring Creek did not disappoint. The old time feel of this album points back to a time where feeling and quality were the focal point of popular music. In another day and time, Hold On Me could have/would have been big. Do yourself a favor and give this gem a listen.
