Betty Nelson's Organic Raspberry Farm
Sultan, WA

Words By J-man

The scene is set in an Organic raspberry farm in Washington state. The year is 1968 and the relatively new group, The Grateful Dead emerged from the depths of the counter culture. This show from forty three years ago today was reportedly one of the band's best performances of 1968.

There are some clear indicators that the audio is out of order and cut. Typically I look for complete and somewhat orderly shows for our picks, however the individual tracks and jams are top notch and way ahead of their time...

The Grateful Dead Live at Betty Nelson's Organic Raspberry Farm on September 2, 1968.

Dark Star, Saint Stephen -> The Eleven -> Death Don't Have No Mercy (cut), Cryptical Envelopment -> Drums -> The Other One -> Cryptical Envelopment -> Alligator -> Drums -> Alligator -> Caution (Do Not Stop on Tracks) -> Feedback
