Headwall at Mt. Werner
Steamboat Springs, CO
Words By Nicholas Stock
In honor of the 4th of July we thought we would pull out some classic Cheese from the nation’s birthday. In the mountains of Steamboat, CO, SCI pulled off a great celebration that ran the gamut of where they come from and where they were going at this time in their history. They began the show with an acoustic pick.

This show has it all; it’s everything SCI and it’s also an awesome celebration on the 4th. The link is a soundboard matrix and it really is a clear recording. It’s nice to dig through Archive and still pull out gems like this show from over a decade ago. The “Rivertrance” into “Star Spangled Banner” into “Rivertrance” is not only a nod to the holiday but it also foreshadows the beat-driven percussion that would fuel their electronic edge in the future. All in all it’s just a fun show. Happy Listening.
